Leather Republic was born out of a simple belief: a leather jacket should be more than just clothing, it should feel like a second skin.

The story begins with Baris, the creative force behind the brand. Born in Istanbul, Baris moved to London to study economics. But instead of following a traditional path, he followed his passion. After graduating, he began importing leather jackets from his family’s factory in Turkey, selling them from his stall in London’s iconic Spitalfields Market. What started as a small venture quickly became the foundation for something larger: a brand dedicated to creating bespoke heritage pieces that combine timeless style with uncompromising quality.

At Leather Republic, every jacket is made from the world’s finest lambskin, sourced from Italy and Turkey. Known for its unmatched softness and durability, this leather is carefully shaped by artisans in our small studio. Each jacket takes three to four weeks to complete, reflecting the patience and precision poured into its creation. Before leaving the studio, the leather undergoes a month-long waxing process, enriching its character and ensuring it ages beautifully over time.

Inside, our custom quilted cotton linings are designed to keep warmth close to the body, making every piece not only stylish but also practical for everyday wear. With proper care, a Leather Republic jacket can last a lifetime and should you ever need it, we offer the ability to repair and restore your jacket, keeping it by your side for decades.

What makes these jackets truly rare is the blend of craftsmanship and individuality. From bikers to creatives, professionals to fashion aficionados, one common story emerges: “I can never find the right leather jacket.” Leather Republic exists to change that.
